Curriculum

Whilst preparing students for the London O’ Levels and A’ Level (Edexcel Syllabus) we believe in “educating the whole Person”. Therefore following subjects are taught.

Achievements

  • In only 4 short years, a student population of over 500 was reached.
     

  • A student from the 1st batch of A/L students was selected to the University of Wales with a scholarship to do a degree in Computer Technology. In September 2006.
     

  • Our O/L results of the past 3 years have shown a progressive upward trend with best results of June 2006 being 6A’s & 1B. Aasahi Manapperuma a student of Regent International College was selected by Edexcel (Excellence in Education) to the category of High Achievers for 2006.
     

  • 13 of our cub scouts received the Gold star award – the world's highest award in cub scouting.
     

  • 13 of Regent International College cub scouts were selected to represent Sri Lanka for the Jamboree held for the 1st time in Bangkok. Total number of scouts who participated from Sri Lanka were 53.
     

  • Shameera Dissanayake was selected to represent Sri Lanka National Schools at the Triangular meet in Chennai. In November 2006
     

  • In August 2004 Regent International College initiated & organized the highly successful Gampaha District Swimming meet now conducted annually with over 20 schools & 10 clubs participating. Each year the increase in the number of participants is noteworthy.
     

  • Regent International College won the overall schools Boy's Trophy at the Gampaha District Swimming Meet in August 2006. At the Inaugural Meet in 2004 Regent was placed 8th.
     

  • As part of our social responsibility programme Regent International College initiated and organized an Eye Clinic in July 2006. There were more than 200 people who attended this clinic and over 160 pairs of customized spectacles were donated at the cost of the students. This camp will be conducted annually.
     

  • In our short time we have been successful in putting together a Swimming Team, a Basketball Team, A Cricket Team, An Athletics Team, A School Choir, Cub Scout Troop, A Scout Troop & A Senior & A Junior Band.
     

  • Regent International College is the only International School to form a Parent Teacher Management Committee to come up with suggestions and opinions to better the students and the school, with regular meetings being held.

Benefits

  • We provide 6 annual free scholarships 3 for internal and 3 for external students entering upper grades based on all round performance in Sports/Education.
     

  • We are the only International School to have a Programme to absorb the school fees up to A/L in case of the death of the sole breadwinner of the family or guardian.
