We are a
fully–equipped International School established in 2002. Presently the
Student population is over 500. The College has classes from Nursery to
Advanced Level and follow the London Edexcel International syllabus.
The school
combines academic excellence with broad extra-curricular programmes. It
is set in a three acre campus and is housed in purpose built buildings.
The School's libraries, laboratories, 25-meter Swimming pool, Basketball
& Tennis courts are built to International specifications

Jayasinghe

Chairman : Association of International School
Dr. Frank Jayasinghe is the senior most educationist and the pioneer
International School Administrator in Sri Lanka. He was the Principal of
St. Thomas’ College, Guruthalawa, and the Sub-warden at St. Thomas’
College, Mount Lavinia, from 1963-1971. He was the Principal/Director of
the American School in Kodikanal In India from 1972-1984. On his return,
he started Wycherley International School in 1985. Dr. Jayasinghe is the
co-ordinator of the Association of Heads of International Schools in Sri
Lanka; Chairman of the National Committee of the United Worlds College;
Founder-member of the International Baccalureate in Geneva.
The Principal
The Principal of the
college is Mr. Nissanka Marapana, an English Honours graduate who holds
the National Diploma in Teaching awarded by the National Institute of
Education – Sri Lanka and a Masters Degree in Linguistics from the
University of Kelaniya. Mr Marapana counts 24 years of experience in
teaching and educational administration both in school and tertiary
levels. He was the senior teacher of English Language and Literature at
Gateway College – Kandy, the Vice Principal at Springfield College –
Kandy and the Principal of Ceylinco Sussex College – Kandy prior to his
appointment as the Principal of R I C. He is also a commissioned officer
of the National Cadet Corps of Sri Lanka Volunteer Army. His experience
in teaching and administration at different levels coupled with his
personal involvement in planning and execution school curriculum has
created the right ethos for effective teaching and learning at our
school. Mr. Marapana an advocate of “International Education in Sri
Lankan culture” strongly believes in “Home School Partnership” in
educating the child.
Teaching Faculty
Every member of
our staff is well qualified and experienced to handle the class he/she
teaches. Dedication and commitment to the cause of education is the hall
mark of our staff. Our extra curricular and sports coaches are well
qualified and are of national and international standards. Our students
are trained scientifically in the field of sports.
