The 8th
Athletic Meet of Regent International College, Gampaha was held on 9th
October 2009 under the distinguished patronage of Dr. Geethanjana Mendis,
The Director general of Sports Medicine Institute as the Chief Guest and
Ms. N.C.D. Priyadarshani, South Asian games Medalist as the Guest of
Honour.
The
occasion with started with the arrival of the guests had enough warmth
with the competitiveness of the athletes. It was further decorated with
a drill display and gymnastic display performed by the college students.
As Dr. Geethanjana Mendis acclaimed, it was truly a sports meet in
grant scale unpredictable in a Gampaha, a district out of privileged
capital. He further appreciated the occasion for taking the sports in
sportive manner.
The
evening was brought to an end with an elaborated awarding ceremony,
granting the highlighted medals for the Best House Decoration won by
Einestein House, Best Squad won by Gandhi House, Best Runner-Up House
won by Einestein House and The Winner House won by Lincoln House.
